Easy Sugar Cookies

I got this recipe by searching google for exactly what the title says...easy sugar cookie recipe! :) They were a hit! I had the kids and my nephew make them with me and I will definitely make them again! The pictures would not be too pretty since the kids did them but they tasted great!

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.(I rolled them out and had the kids use cookie cutters...if you choose to do this...chill the dough for about 15 min.)
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

Emma Grace is now a Covenant child!

She looked huge next to the other baby getting baptized but we really wanted her to be baptized at our new church. She did great! She let the pastor hold her and everything! I need to dress her up in the gown she was baptized in...my mom made it and Jonas was also baptized in it. Glad to have both grandmas, papa, 1 sister and family, and dear friends join in the celebration. God is good!

Good-bye Summer...

Well I can't believe that I go back to work tomorrow! I hardly took any pictures this summer either. We certainly kept busy though. We went to Riverbend, the park, the zoo, the aquarium, the Creative Discovery Museum, the ballpark, the water fountain, the pool, the bowling alley and lots more! I was able to get some projects done while the kids were visiting their Nana in Alabama. We went and visited Aunt Beka in Georgia. We had a visit from Mimi. Now the kids are going to start daycare 3 days a week at my school. We all start tomorrow! I am excited they will be at school with me but sad that I won't have all the free time with them! Good-bye summer! (wish that it meant the heat was going away too...)

I'm BAAACCCKKK!!!

the match is ON! watch out...they mean business!

one of my favorite pictures~my baby is growing up so fast!
emma grace trying to eat the water! it WAS almost lunch time!

I blog about as often as I pluck my eyebrows! Blogging and plucking eyebrows are both optional in my world...and with so many other activities it gets put on the back burner. I do think about both activities and then say...maybe during the summer or over a break. So here it is...SUMMER!!! WooHoo! I am happy to have a break from the 5am alarm clock, the rush of the day, the physical and emotional exhaustion from being a teacher, a mom, and a wife. Now I can focus on being a mom and a wife (and maybe even a friend!)
TWO WHOLE MONTHS to waste away and fill with nothing but fun activities! Yahoo!
