backyard fun...

Jonas and I have been enjoying our deluxe swimming pool in the backyard. Well, deluxe might be overstating things but he doesn't actually swim either. So...we sit in the water, cool off, splash some and check out those furry, four-legged things that run around and lick your face. As you can see, Bailey is keeping his distance from Jonas. However...

Scout and Jonas had a drooling contest! It is funny to me how dogs can have such human qualities... Let me explain, Bailey is very curious but very cautious and reserved around Jonas - he is content to watch him from a distance, on the other hand, Scout is very protective of Jonas but also very unreserved about her affection toward him (she has no regard for personal space). I know we can all think of people that have similar qualities.

The first of many...

Today we celebrated Father's Day! We had a great time with Mal and Mal sr. (Papa). I am thankful for the caring men with integrity in mine and Jonas' life. Watching Mallory care for and love Jonas warms my heart and puts the biggest smile on my face. I love watching them together!
Jonas is now eating rice cereal like a big boy! He really likes it and enjoys chewing on the spoon when we are all finished - he is teething quite a lot these days...please pray for our patience and mental health! Whew!

Grammy time!

We have been having such a great time with my mom in town. She is loving being a grandmother and seeing her "lil' punkins!" has been such a treat. After having all girls herself she is enjoying the fun of having grand-boys!

We have taken some nice walks to the park, witnessed Jonas' baptism, tried to help Sarah break a fever, looked at property, watched a cute movie (August Rush), ate lots of good ice cream, browsed the Knitting Mill, taken lots of fun pictures, fed Beka's cats (yep, she got a kitten she named Nala - it is a cute orange female), and spent lots of quality time with the family!

a part of the covenant family

Yesterday we had Jonas baptized. It was such an amazing experience as a parent and a child of God. Our prayer for Jonas is that he will know and accept Christ our Lord as his Savior. Our responsibility as parents to teach Jonas about God's grace and love was made real today. I have always known we wanted to raise our children in a home of believers - but somehow saying it before the church made it so much more alive to me.
We have been blessed with so many friends and family - and we were honored to have so many of them join us and witness our vows before our covenant family. Thank you to everyone who was able to come!
